Owner/rider, Jessica Alderete has made it her mission to make riding productive, educational, and fun for both horse and rider. She has been riding since the age of 5. Over her 15 years of riding experience, she has been trained in hunters, jumpers, dressage and barrel racing/playday events. Out of the 5 disciplines, she has successfully and competitively shown in 4. Jessica has been in training with professional trainers all over central Texas for the past 15 years. At shows, she consistently places, if not first, in the top tier of riders. She consistently works with all types of horses- from working with young colts, showing experienced schoolmasters, as well as training her own 4 horses.
Over the years she has worked with top noted riders. Namely, Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer Barbie Piccinni, hunter/jumper trainer Gina Piccinni, barrel trainer Angel Piccinni, all around rider and problem horse trainer Dan Keen, and FEI dressage trainer Michele Voorhees of Topsider farm. As Jessica has trained and been exposed to several types of riding and training, she uses small implements from each to create her own training style. One that not only gains the trust of her mount, but creates a well balanced, well exercised, and easy minded horse.
Currently Jessica is an active member in the Texas Lost Pines Riding club, shows with the White Fences Young Rider Dressage Team, and barrel races in local races surrounding the Austin and College Station area. Jessica has also recently finished a working student position at Haras Dos Cavaleiros working with international dressage riders and lusitano stallions. Along with her horse riding career, she is attending Weatherford College and majoring in Equine Management and Production.
J. Leigh Horse Training offers to exercise and work with horses, whether it is ground manners, lunging, hacks during the week, or conditioning and training for upcoming shows or races. We are based in Weatherford, TX. J. Leigh Horse training serves Weatherford, Azle, Ft. Worth and Dallas areas.
